PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR ANGEL

Bible Text: Exodus 23:20-21,
“ See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him.”

The very first understanding gained from today’s text is the fact that God has prepared ‘a place’ for you in the new year. That place is a place of honor, a place of riches, a place of comfort, a peaceful place, a secured place and many more. The word ‘place’ could suggest destiny, somewhere to possess and occupy, somewhere to settle down and enjoy life. It is a place like no other place, a place where people will be surprised to see you. This could be your husband’s house, your dream job, property, or anything you have long desired. It is indeed a special place.That is what God has prepared ahead of you in the new year. That is your land to possess.

The second issue is that you don’t have the ability to discover and get to that place by yourself.As mere mortal, you neither know the place nor the way that leads to the place. Your strength and wisdom cannot take you there. You need to admit the fact that God has not given you the ability to move and struggle to get to the place on your own. Self ability,self help will fail you,it will not help at all.

The third point is that God has made provision for your inability.He is sending an angel to lead you into the very place. The children of Israel did not know the way to Canaan hence the need for Moses. The angel has a mandate from God to guard you along the way and to bring you into the land.To guard means to keep against danger,to protect and to preserve. There are dangerous and voracious animals on the road,they are capable of devouring their victims and terminating the desire and the hope of getting to the place. It is the duty of that angel to protect you against every challenging situation. The angel is very familiar with the road network and you can trust him for true counsel as he guides on the way.

Going further,the text talks about what you will need to do to enjoy the company of the sent angel. You will have to pay attention and rebel not against the angel. To pay attention to someone is to listen to that person and follow him obediently.

Beloved of God,in this context,your angel can be your parent,your pastor,your counselor,your teacher,or anyone. God can use anybody for you this year. Your response to such divine emissaries is critical to whether you will reach your destination or not. Therefore, be positive in your attitude. Pay attention to your angel and do not rebel against him. Rebellion is dangerous,it will land you in a wrong and unwanted destination. As you journey through the path of the new year,learn the way of obedience. Obey your parents, your leaders, and most importantly,obey God .

Prophetic Prayer
I pray for you today:

1. May the Lord give you direction this year in Jesus name.
2. Your angel will locate you.
3. He will lead you and guide you.
4. He will protect and preserve you from evil.
5. As you diligently follow,you will get to your land of destiny.
